The German Spine Society (GSS) has taken a stable role within the German and international societies and the German Spine Society Congress has been developed as an important event not only in Germany but also in Europe. The GSS has launched several projects which have gained attention in political discussions and in cooperation with health insurance companies. Apart from the completed personal certification, a spine registry has also been formed.
The Congress, the 9th Annual Meeting of the German Spine Society, runs under the slogan ‘Spine surgery between quantity and quality’ and responds to the critical questions posed to us as spine surgeons. Here we will adopt a clear scientific position and present ourselves as an advocate of the patient and his suffering of spinal disorders.
