Implants

The DIPLOMAT pedicle screws are available as a two-piece implant. The polyaxial screws can be individually combined with the separately available standard, reduction and MIS tulips depending on the indication and surgical situation.

Fewer components for greater efficiency.

The DIPLOMAT system screws are suitable for open procedures as well as percutaneous and minimally invasive procedures, meaning that there is no need to change systems.

One system for all indications.

The tulip

In practice, the tulip offers a number of important advantages: the surgeon can remove and replace it as required in situ.

Intraoperative replacement for efficient and optimum treatment.

With a diameter of 12.5mm, DIPLOMAT has the lowest tulip profile of only 14.9mm. Any unwanted protrusion of the tulip is thus prevented, even in very slim or young patients.

Optimal adjustment thanks to the lowest tulip profile.

Along with impressive practical outcomes, the removable tulip also achieved outstanding results in laboratory tests: the ELASTOLOK® locking mechanism maximises the strength of the screw/tulip connection.

The connection with the set screw gives the rod an even firmer hold. The set screw with its Torx T30 internal profile also enables a higher torque when screwing in along with a more stable connection with the instrument.

Robust performance outcomes along with stability and safety.

The pedicle screw

Firm hold against pull-out forces.

Both in the pedicle and in the vertebral body, the self-tapping, double thread provides the best possible fixation and perfect anchoring in the bone – even without tapping.

Time savings thanks to a rapid procedure.

The high thread pitch gives a displacement of 4.5mm per turn and enables faster insertion. This considerably reduces the implantation time.

Simple handling with optimal security.

All pedicle screws from Ø 5.5mm upwards are cannulated and fenestrated. The surgeon can thus perform augmentation at any time, e.g. when the bone quality is inadequate. Intraoperative issues are therefore more easily resolved. Because the internal diameter of DIPLOMAT is 1.9mm, it is also possible to use a stronger wire. As a result, guidance of the pedicle screw during MIS procedures is noticeably more stable.
