Global Spine Congress 2016 – Preview
13–16 April 2016, Dubai
AOSpine will host the 5th Annual Global Spine Congress (GSC) in Dubai, welcoming an audience of global participants, spine surgeons and researchers, and original research presentations. AOSpine launched the GSC in San Francisco in 2009. The event has since travelled to Barcelona (2011), Hong Kong (2013) and Buenos Aires (2015). The number of participants and speakers has grown rapidly and the last meeting in Buenos Aires had almost 1300 participating surgeons from all over the world.
The congress is open to all surgeons, spine practitioners, allied health professionals and researchers, and will offer a packed schedule during three days, showcasing the very latest approaches to spine care. The scientific programme will include AOSpine Symposia, Spine Society Symposia and pre-reviewed abstracts presented as oral or E-poster presentations. These sessions will provide delegates with an opportunity to interact with the scientific community, present data and increase networks with like-minded peers.
Event format
The Global Spine Congress will once again offer a packed schedule showcasing the very latest approaches to spinal care. Renowed international speakers will moderate and present an inspiring range of parallel scientific sessions and symposia, with original podium presentations where lively debates and discussions are guaranteed. The scientific programme will be complemented by session symposia led by local spine society delegates.
Pre-courses
There will be complementary pre-courses on the first day of the congress. Participants can attend these pre-courses but there are limited places available and they would have to pre-register in order to attend them.
Scientific paper sessions
Moderated by distinguished speakers, the best peer-reviewed abstracts accepted in the selection process will be delivered in five-minute presentations, giving surgeons and researchers the opportunity to present their ideas and innovations to the world; time for discussion will be reserved at the end of each session.
Society symposia
The congress offers sessions on the first and second day presented by guest spine societies from different countries.
Symposia
Participants will be able to select between different spine symposia. The symposia will cover the latest treatments and technologies for the management of spinal disorders. Lively debates and discussions on a range of hot topics are guaranteed.
