This book is part of the MasterPass series from Radcliffe Publishing.

Practice makes perfect, that’s why this book aims to be a comprehensive book for the FRCS (Tr&Orth).

It comes in 200 pages and contains a bank of over 350 questions, with a focus on high yields topics,. It is easy to read and reflects the structure of the exam and can therefore be used as a basis for teaching and revision. The questions follow the new format of Single Best Answer and Extended Matching Questions.

The questions vary in complexity from basic MRCS to more complex FRCS level.
Orthopaedic knowledge has expanded and grown rapidly, so as this book was published in 2007, since then there have been many developments in our knowledge, such as more information from national Joint Registries etc. Therefore, revision of this book to keep it up to date is recommended.

I believe that this book will provide valuable revision and practice for orthopaedic trainees and surgeons.

The book is divided into 11 sections:
Basic science
Biomechanics
Paediatric orthopaedics
Hip and femur
Knee and lower leg
Foot and ankle
Shoulder and humerus
Forearm and hand
Spine
Orthopaedic oncology
Extended matching questions

We recommend practice questions in trauma and Orthopaedics for the FRCS to all practicing orthopaedic surgeons and, in particular, to trainees in early stages of preparation for the FRCS.
